SS 17 Validation Report // Dressing In Primary Colors

We're back again with a fun trend we predicted in our Spring/Summer 2017 Contemporary Market forecasts.

We saw dressing in primary colors as a recurring theme on the runway, from designers like Lisa Perry, to Adam Selman, to DSquared2.

Now that Spring 2017 has rolled around, we're seeing it everywhere from on the streets, in magazines, in social media and much more. Check out our side by side below, which features our original prediction in our trnd forecast as well as our favorite current examples of fashionistas dressing in primary colors!

Mini CRSSD Fashion Show at El Camino

We joined Stroll Boutique, Child of Wild, and Hyde Edwards Salon and Spa Thursday night at El Camino. They came together to present a mini fashion show inspired by festival season before CRSSD Festival comes to San Diego next weekend.

Not only did they show off head to toe festival looks, but they also featured an in-event pop up shop and raffled off tickets to CRSSD Fest to one lucky winner.

PoshNation: The Seller Stylist Tour, San Diego

San Diego was Poshmark's first stop on their nationwide PoshNation tour.

Since 2011, Poshmark has been bringing together a chic community of women through a social marketplace these fashionistas can access directly from their phones.
The company that revolutionized the digital shopping world with an app to buy and sell clothing set up shop at The Hotel Palomar Wednesday evening.

Nothing says posh like a rooftop pool party, and the SummerSalt Rooftop Pool & Lounge provided the perfect atmosphere.

The night included cocktails....

a photo booth....

Poshmark cupcakes...

and giveaways.

There was no need for actual physical merchandise. All guests needed were their phones to shop, sell, mingle....

and even meet Poshmark's founder, Manish Chandra.

The event was a huge success, and we wish Poshmark the best of luck on the rest of their PoshNation tour!

Whether it's making a glam statement with an over the shoulder stole, making a cozy statement in a curly fur jacket, or simply layering on the warmth, fur is undoubtedly one of the most popular trends this season.

3. Non-stop Velvet

This luxe fabric is lending sumptuous texture to everything from blazers to slips this season in inky black, super-saturated shades, or rich burgundy.

From a hint of sparkle to full on glitter, there are plenty of ways to shine this season. The Contemporary market dazzles with all-over sequins, chunky jewel embellishments, and metallic shimmer.
