trnd on the Scene // Del Mar Races // Opening Day

Del Mar kicked off their 2017 Racing Season in style yesterday. For anyone who has ever attended this ritzy daytime event, you already know what you wear is just as important as the bets you place.  If Opening Day had a fashion motto it would be, "See and be Seen". From the hats, to the shoes, to the dresses we were on the scene to take in all the best that Opening Day had to offer.

trnd Events // New Belgium Tour de Fat

The Tour de Fat graced San Diego with its presence this Saturday, making a stop at the Waterfront Park.

This tour benefitted the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition and there was a bike parade to the event.

They told us to expect the unexpected, and they definitely delivered!

There were fortune tellers,

a costume contest, 

a satellite stage with vaudeville acts,

a dance contest, 

and fun to be had by all.

We loved the music (and fashion of course) by local band The Verigolds

and The Naked and Famous!

trnd Events // Locale Magazine L'Aunch Party at L'Auberge Del Mar

We joined Locale Magazine on the rooftop of L'Auberge Del Mar to celebrate the launch of their June Issue.

Not only did we spot some chic fashion, but we enjoyed live jazz music, great appetizers from Kitchen 1540, and tasty cocktails.

Proceeds from the event benefitted local equine charity, REINS. Check out our photos from the event, and stay tuned to our blog for more fun fashion events!

trnd Events // J. Crew and San Diego Humane Society

We've all heard the phrase "Adopt, Don't Shop" and we fully support the effort when it refers to adopting shelter animals as opposed to buying from breeders.

However, shopping new arrivals at J. Crew to benefit the San Diego Humane Society puts a whole new spin on the phrase. 

J. Crew at Westfield UTC Mall partnered with the Humane Society for a special shopping event for a good cause this past weekend.

You could come shop with your pup or meet an adoptable one. Shoppers got a first look at new arrivals and a special 20% off incentive. The best part: a portion of sales went to benefit San Diego Humane Society!

Thanks to all the volunteers and everyone who participated in the event to try and find these precious pups fur-ever homes!

Fashion Week San Diego 2017 Spring Showcase

To celebrate the 10th Year Anniversary of Fashion Week San Diego, this year's Spring Showcase theme was, "Past, Present, and Future". 

With the Pacific Ocean to one side and the iconic Hotel Del Coronado to the other, the perfect backdrop was set to bring this theme to life. 

Twenty-one designers showed their looks on the runway, drawing inspiration from India, Dubai, Tijuana, and right here in San Diego. 

We were certainly inspired by this event and look forward to Fashion Week San Diego in October!
